At Minnarie’s Under the Sea Swim School, teaching kids to swim is not just a business... it’'s our passion. Swimming is a lifelong skill that every person should possess. It takes practice and perseverance. You would never expect your child to learn to play piano in six weeks, nor should you expect them to really learn to swim well in such a short amount of time. We offer year-round swim lessons to provide the consistency and positive reinforcement our swimmers need in order to succeed. Our knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic instructors combine teaching good fundamentals, progressions, fostering comfort, and lots of praise to create the optimal learning environment for your child.
Good Fundamentals: Our instructors cultivate proper technique from the beginning. Teaching it right the first time is much easier than going back and correcting bad habits. Teaching children to swim efficiently gives them the confidence they need to thrive.
Progressions: We practice simple drills, repeating until perfect, and then build upon the skills learned, increasing muscle memory and boosting the confidence of our swimmers. Every skill is practiced in every class, reinforcing and refining technique along the way.
Comfort: It’s simple, if a child is comfortable they are more likely to succeed. We use warm teaching pools combined with small groups of no more than three students to promote comfort in our swimmers. Instructors strive to meet their students' individual needs, challenging them at their own level. Our instructors never dunk or force, developing trust, which is imperative when teaching children.
Praise: Positive reinforcement and praise are essential when working with children. Our instructors use constant praise to not only make the class more fun for your child, but to boost their confidence and willingness to learn. We let them know that we believe in their abilities and that we will help them achieve their goals!
